About Dr. Tim

As a forensic psychiatrist and expert witness to the Court, my role is often to distill complex mental health information into a form that non-medical professionals and families can easily understand. As the son of a school teacher, I naturally believe that physicians should strive to be educators themselves - working constantly to keep up with advances in medicine in order to effectively provide the most up-to-date information available to their patients.

Dr. Tim's Credentials

I received my M.D. in 2002 at the University of Kentucky before spending my next six years in specialty training to become an adult psychiatrist, child and adolescent psychiatrist, and forensic psychiatrist. I am one of just over 200 physicians in the United States to hold board certifications in each of these three medical specialties by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (A.B.P.N.). I have been on the clinical and teaching faculty at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine as well as the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Additionally, I have published articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, presented at national conferences, and have served as an expert witness to the Court in the states of Kentucky and New York. I have been cited by various news organizations including the Associated Press and currently serve on the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Committtee for Children and the Law.

Dr. Tim's Team

I frequently utilize other, independently licensed mental health professionals in order to provide a thorough, 360-degree evaluation. Such professionals include psychologists with Ph.D.’s or Master’s degrees, physicians from other specialties, occupational therapists (O.T.’s), speech and language pathologists and many other professionals. I have personally selected each of these individuals based on their knowledge and experience to assist me in completing a thorough and complete psychiatric evaluation and/or treatment for your loved one.
