Our Process
At 360 Mental Health Services, we pride ourselves on offering an evaluation that, although time and labor intensive, is truly 360-degree in nature and looks at the "whole person." Although no two evaluations will be exactly alike because each individual's needs will differ, Dr. Tim generally considers the following elements to be important for a thorough and complete child or adolescent psychiatric evaluation (of course adult evaluations will vary somewhat):
- Review of medical, psychiatric, psychological, school and any other pertinent records
- Initial interview with just the parents or caregivers
- Subsequent interview with the child or adolescent in the presence of the parents or caregivers; may interview child or adolescent alone, when appropriate
- In-school evaluation by a qualified mental health professional, when indicated
- Provision, scoring and interpretation of psychometric testing
- Specialized psychological testing, when indicated, provided by a qualified professional contracting with 360 Mental Health Services
- Ordering, review and interpretation of appropriate medical tests, such as brain imaging, blood tests, urine tests, EKG, EEG, and other tests as indicated
- Dr. Tim is certified to utilize the Quotient® ADHD testing system as part of the 360-degree evaluation, when indicated
- Please note that, due to popular demand and as a cost savings to families, evaluation utilizing the Quotient® ADHD testing system is offered by 360 Mental Health Services "a la carte" in some cases, without Dr. Tim's complete 360-degree evaluation
- In the case above, neither Dr. Tim nor 360 Mental Health Services will be able to provide a definitive diagnostic opinion, although the full Quotient® report will be made available to the parents, caregivers and the professional who referred the child (or adult!) for testing
